Looking Back at DLDD’s Work – and Moving Forward Together

As local councillors begin to show their support today, we wanted to share a reminder of the work DLDD has already done over the years to stand up for Dunstable’s businesses and community.

Back in 2009, DLDD met with Minister Barbara Follett MP, along with Andrew Selous MP, to raise the serious concerns of our local traders. The meeting went extremely well, and Barbara committed to replying to all the letters from local businesses, ensuring their voices were heard at the highest level.

That same week, DLDD also delivered a poster and letter about the campaign to Mary Portas’s office, and her business partner Peter Cross even shared a supportive comment on the DLDD page.

Thanks to the pressure from our community, business rates were re-looked at, proving what can be achieved when Dunstable stands together.

As we continue working with councillors and stakeholders today, DLDD remains committed—just as we were back then—to fighting for a fair, thriving future for our town.

Don’t Let Dunstable Die

Still here. Still fighting for Dunstable.
